Proposal for the project 1

For assignment one, we need to select a theme for the video iterations we have created. The coffee, baby and meat as one theme but with a different sounds effect and background music create the effect. Here is some techiniques things i want to share about from the youtube channel before i jump into the specific theme i want to create with.

As I considered, I want to use Internet and website as the theme for my topic. I will probably have around 4 or 5 clips for my footages for this project. By use different editing technique and sounds to produce the different meaning to the audience. I have been trying to find some videos from archive.org and several public domain or downloadable video from Vimeo and somewhere else.

As my first iteration, I will use the rhythm editing to provide the atmosphere of peaceful, hope, vibrant and how the convenient the Internet or the application or software it brings their users in this modern age. In order to achieve this, I will use the editing technique of rhythm editing. The video relies on the music/ sound effect and the logic between the each montage heavily.

The Second one will create the emotion of intense, insecurity as a negative effect of Internet from this no privacy world. Bring the potential meaning ‘big bother is watching you’. As the fast cut editing such as fade in/out, hip pop montage.

Finally for the third one, I will intend to use the cross cut to create the chaotic or something unclear feeling to let viewer judge by themselves the website as a double-edge sword. Cross cut is often applied to create suspense. It also could cut to shots from different time periods.

--update for the third one for the project 1, I am trying to get the cross cut but it could not express the meaning as my limited footage, seems will create the same meaning with the second iteration. So I decide to use the J/L cuts for the several interview/dialogue to contrast the idea behind the google and its application. To give the mind people about what google thinking about themselves...
